Remote E-commerce Operations Lead

Our client, a globally recognized e-commerce enterprise, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Remote E-commerce Operations Lead. This fully remote position is based out of Pretoria, Gauteng, though requires no physical presence in an office. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operational efficiency of our online business, ensuring smooth order fulfillment, inventory management, and logistics. This critical role demands a strategic thinker with a proven ability to optimize processes, manage cross-functional teams remotely, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced digital environment. Your expertise will directly impact customer satisfaction and the profitability of our e-commerce operations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of e-commerce operations, including order processing, warehousing, fulfillment, and shipping.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain and logistics processes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational performance, such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and return rates.
• Implement and manage robust quality control measures throughout the fulfillment process.
• Collaborate with technology teams to integrate and optimize e-commerce platforms and operational software.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and other vendors.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all operational activities.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a remote team of operations specialists and coordinators.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in e-commerce operations and supply chain management.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing remote teams.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and logistics optimization.
• Proven ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency and cost savings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a remote work setting.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and ERP systems.
